USdb. Networking Solutions for managing archaeological data

USdb
is an innovative application to resolve the increasingly urgent problem of proper management and storage of archaeological data, primarily the alphanumeric ones.

An up-to-date standard of archaeological documentation does indeed use a complex descriptive apparatus: US, USM, USR, classification of archaeological finds (materials, human and animal remains), registration of buildings and sites, all generally accompanied by lists of photos, plants, matrix, etc.

USdb is a specific system to sort and manage this vast "universe” of documentation, developing and linking together all these realities in a single database, implementing the significance of each individual data collected.

The interaction between various kinds of data is made possible by the architecture of USdb, a server-side archive system, not simply installed on your PC but on the web, and then simultaneously accessible by multiple users, both in “display” and in “modify” mode.

Main aim of this revolutionary system consists in the possibility that experts with different and complementary skills (which may belong to different teams involved on the same research project) can update their files, available in real time to all the other users.

USdb can also supply in real time, for example, a US record that you have compiled automatically updated with all the data about the archaeological materials that your colleague has entered from any other computer connected to the net, and similarly happens for images, maps, photos or other alphanumeric data It will be then superfluous to share via e-mail your "updated" database file (Filemaker or Access), or collect various database files to "read" an individual context.

Moreover, USdb can easily interface with your GIS system.

Welcome to the world of network and data sharing!
